Nourish Your Soul In 5 Easy Ways

As a Canadian living in the US, both countries may be celebrating this weekend. Some with barbecues, some with camping or trips to the cabin (with social distancing still in effect, of course).

Beyond all the food that will be consumed over the Covid-19 version of the holidays, here are five easy ways to fit in some nourishment for your soul:

Surround yourself with awesome people.

W. Clement Stone says that we are the product of our environment so surround yourself with the best. So, this weekend, if you want to be full of love and to care for yourself the way you deserve to be cared for, you have to surround yourself with positive people who care for themselves and care for you. This way you are all refuelling from an overflow of positive vibes.

Ditch the comparison game.

You are a beautiful creation and there is only one you. Everyone else is taken so stop comparing yourself to them. Comparison breeds envy, judgement, and bitterness. That steals all your positive vibes and stops your personal growth in its tracks. Keep your eyes focused on your next steps. Worry about your own self. Perfection is stupid. You are a perfect work in progress!

Practice gratitude.

Nothing improves attitude more than gratitude. Focus on what is right in your life. You will be able to flood your world with good feelings and erase a lot of the nasty negative thoughts that hold you back. Make it a point of duty to celebrate what’s right.

Take a load off.

Truth be told, 99% of the time, the things stressing us out is not that big a deal. So this weekend, maybe you ate a cinnamon roll. Or a dozen (guilty!). Yeah, it probably wasn’t the best choice for a healthy lifestyle. Shake it off and get back on track. You will find your happy healthiest self is more within reach than you think.

Cultivate a winning attitude.

The best cheerleader you can have is YOU. The ingredients for a winning attitude is a positive mindset mixed with powerful self-motivation. That’s my premium cocktail. Drink up!

As you're celebrating this weekend, remember you are amazing.

Don’t dismiss that. Own it. Celebrate it.
